I got a $125 fine for being five minutes late to my car that was parked in an empty Safeway parking lot. Need I say anymore?

I was heading out to the footy and jumped into my car. I then noticed that it was going to rain so I thought I will pop back into my house and get an umbrella. My house is on a main road so it has a clearway but I thought I will only be 2 mins. I popped into the house, got the jacket and came back out. I had a $200 fine on my windscreen. Talk about ninja inspectors...

I had to rush home stopped in the no standing zone right infront of my door. I let the tradie in, and then the phone rang so I went inside to get it. It’s a cordless phone, so I was walking back outside to move the car and one the phone to my sister, I yelled “ohhh nooooo!!!” as I saw the parking inspector place a ticket on my windscreen, through the security door of my house, from my corridor. Of course the parking inspector didn’t care that I lived there and that was about to move my car. $240 bucks down the drain and my BF won’t let me live it down.

So we were visiting the UK and had hired a car for a few days to drive to Stonehenge and Bath. When we got back we parked outside our hotel because they were charging 40 pound to use their car park. We misread the sign and the parking space required a ticket from 9 am the next morning. When we got up we had a 120 pound fine. We should have just used the car park.

I have been fined $90 once for parking on my own nature strip! I was just trying to clear the road for other traffic as it gets really congested in my street. When I appealed the fine the council said it was illegal. What a load of crap! So be careful if you do this. Apparently it isn’t allowed.

I got a parking fine and a speeding fine all in one day. It was like the day from hell!

I always warned my bf about parking directly in front of my unit as it’s a ‘No Standing’ zone. He always took the risk and got away with it for about 6 months. One day he was bragging to me about his ‘lucky parking space’ and just as we were leaving to go to the Milk bar a parking inspector drove past and booked him. It was as if they were listening to us. I always remind him of that one.

One time I parked around the corner from my house. I had until 9 am the next morning after which it becomes a permit zone. I got up early to make sure I moved it in time. I went back at 8:54 and there was no one around and it didn’t have any chalk. I then realised I left my laptop at home so I went back inside to get it. I came back at 9:34 and saw a parking fine for $140 timed at 9:32. Nice!

I had parked my car in front of my loading door in the side of my business to load some stuff into my car & had gone inside to call some one to help me. Then the parking inspector came & imposed a fine on me .my pleading went down her ears.It is really sad that these councils brag a lot about helping small business & do the just opposite.

My friend visited me in LA, so we drove downtown and looked for the cheapest parking spot. We found an unofficial garage using a parking app that only charged $7 for the day. When I asked the gate officer for the hours of operation, he just replied saying, "we are open all day!" When we came back at 6pm, the garage was closed up. We had to pay $70 for a hotel and got an overnight parking ticket.
