Your Right to Data Deletion

How to request deletion of your data

You're in control of your data. At Parkhound, we respect your right to privacy. If you'd like to request the deletion of your account and personal information, we're here to help.

How to Request Deletion

To request the deletion of your account and personal data, please contact our Customer Success team:

Email:[email protected]

Subject line: Data Deletion Request — [Your registered email address]

We aim to respond to all requests within 5 business days and to complete all eligible deletions within 30 days.

What Happens to Your Data?

Once we receive your request, we'll review your account and let you know what we can do. The outcome depends on your account history.

If your account has no bookings or listings

We will permanently delete your account and all associated personal information — including your name, email address, phone number, and address — from our systems.

If your account has listings but has never had a completed booking

We will permanently delete all of your listings and your account, along with all associated personal information.

If your account has completed bookings (as a parker)

We are required to retain transaction records for up to 12 months from your most recent booking to support payment dispute resolution. This is a standard financial services requirement.

In these cases we will:

  • Disable your account immediately so you can no longer log in
  • Schedule your data for permanent deletion once the retention period has passed
  • Notify you of your scheduled deletion date by email

If you've rented out a parking space through Parkhound

As a space host, you've earned income through our platform. Under the Corporations Act 2001, the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) requires companies to retain financial records for a minimum of 7 years from the date they were created.

In these cases we will:

  • Disable your account immediately so you can no longer log in
  • Retain your records solely for government compliance — they will not be used for marketing or any other purpose
  • Schedule your data for permanent deletion after the required retention period
  • Notify you of your scheduled deletion date by email

We understand this isn't always the answer people are hoping for. This obligation is set by Australian law and is not something we are able to waive, even upon request.

Your Other Privacy Rights

Even if your data cannot be deleted immediately, you still have rights under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), as amended by the Privacy and Other Legislation Amendment Act 2024:

  • Right to access — You can request a copy of the personal information we hold about you
  • Right to correction — You can ask us to correct any inaccurate information
  • Right to complain — You can lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au
