New to Camperdown?

4 kilometres southwest of the Sydney CBD, Camperdown is densely populated with residential, academic and medical buildings within its area. 

Camperdown is home to the University of Sydney main campus. Thousands of students attend this university each year and it has some of the most well known and beautiful grounds as far as university campuses go. Additional to the main campus are also the residential campuses that students are able to dorm in for the duration of their studies. 

There are a few buildings in Camperdown that are heritage listed, a couple of them being the admission block and Victoria and Albert Pavilions in the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital. The park just adjacent to the university campus, Victoria Park, is also heritage listed and a great favourite to students, locals and visitors during all hours of the day. 

Many places to eat are around this area, particularly because of the university campus and hospital. There are a few favourite cafes and restaurants that locals, students and employees take advantage of including Camperdown Commons and Alem’s House. 

It’s also within walking distance of most places on the southern side of the city including Broadway, Ultimo and Newtown. Public transport is easy to get as well, especially buses due to Parramatta Road being the main road running along the suburb.
