As in many parts of Inner West Sydney, there aren’t enough spaces to provide all residents and businesses with parking. The council does try to accommodate homeowners and workers, by issuing parking permits. You display these on your car and it allows you to overstay the council parking’s time limits, if there’s a spot available for the day. Such a permit is free in some circumstances but if you need a second one for your business it will cost you around $120. This permit will only be relevant for certain council spaces, so you need to check signage carefully for your area number before pulling in, or you’ll be fined. There are a few council car parks, including Beattie St, but most are only available for short-term stays.
