Sunshine Coast Airport Parking

This lovely city is the third most populous in Australia and since 2014 has been divided into the Sunshine Coast Region and the Shire of Noosa local governments.

The Sunshine Coast Airport, known formerly as Maroochydore Airport, is a popular airport as it acts as a gateway to many holiday destinations such as Noosa and Mooloolaba. There are daily flights to Sydney and Melbourne, as well as Air New Zealand providing seasonal flights to Auckland. It is the only airport in the region that can service jet aircraft operations and it is the main airport for the city. Although the airport only has one terminal, this is normally split into two so that when the New Zealand flights are in season, the terminal can accommodate both international and domestic flights. Virgin Australia, Qantas, Air New Zealand, JetStar, and Tiger Airways operate in this airport and can handle up to a million passengers every year, with more than 70 flights a week.

Getting to the Domestic/International Terminal

As there is only one terminal, getting to it is a much simpler process. Translink operates a bus service that runs through the airport. The stop is to the right of the arrivals hall. For shuttle bus services are also available and stop off to the left of the arrivals hall. This service is ideal for those heading to or from Noosa and other northern Sunshine Coast regions. Con-X-ion services those heading to the southern parts of the region.

Sunshine Coast Cabs also service the area. Just be mindful that whilst there is not flag-down rate, there is an additional service fee applied to the cost of your trip. This is usually only $2.

If you wish to take your own vehicle, the airport has three parking precincts that you can utilise while you’re on your trip. This precincts are divided into short stay, long stay and long stay plus, which is a premium long stay service. To further maximise your chances of picking a good spot, you can book online.

Short-term Stays

If you’re dropping off family or friends, parking in the short stay car park is ideal. As it’s located directly opposite the terminal, it’s extremely convenient and less time is needed to walk back to your vehicle. The pricing starts at $4 for up to the first hour and rises with each hour added. There are also parking services a few minutes away from the airport. These services are generally cheaper to use than the airport parking available, so make sure that you do your research before your flight.

Long-term Stays

Long stay car parking provides a fully-fenced space located within a three-minute walking distance from the terminal. This will normally cost you $20 for the first 24 hours and an additional $22 per day for the succeeding days. There are also other parking services outside of the airport that offer a cheaper price, however you won’t have much control over what your parking space is equipped with and if it suits your needs well enough.
