A Day on the Green

Great music, great weather and great wine, welcome to the 17th edition of the ever popular A Day on the Green. Promoters Michael and Anthea Newton started the event in 2001 with their first show. It has since grown to be one of Australia’s most successful and entertaining outdoor concerts. Enjoy tunes spun by resident DJ Grand Master Baitz as well as a range of Australian and international acts such as Robbie Williams, James Blunt, Sheppard, Pete Murray and The Lemonheads. These artists will tour all over Australia, performing in every state. But good music is not the only thing attendees can look forward to. Enjoy wine at Petersons Winery in Armidale NSW, or Rochford Wines in Coldstream VIC as you listen to the music. 

These events allow you to bring your own food, and those who do have the chance to win the ‘picnic of the day’ prize. Running in the Summer months, up to 30 concerts are held near the major wine-growing regions around Australia. The event has sprouted four albums of the tunes being performed at each concert, as well as being broadcasted on television for people who weren’t able to attend to still enjoy the festivities. All you need to do now is sort out your parking space for the day. With thousands of fans attending Kings Park and Botanic Garden in Perth, having your own cheap and secure car park booked in advance is an absolute imperative. So come on out and enjoy “The Big Day Out for grown-ups”.
