Parking at the World Science Festival, Brisbane

One of the most prestigious festivals in the entire world, the World Science Festival in Brisbane tackles all important fields and studies of science.

For this year’s science festival, attendees will have the chance to experience “close encounters of the third kind in concert” and so much more. The World Science Festival in Brisbane or WSF Brisbane is the collision of science and the arts for the purpose of educating and inspiring. The WSF is a combination of fun activities, science presentations all in the amazing Science Centre located at the Queensland Museum.

This festival first started in the big apple, New York City, after it was founded by mathematician and theoretical physicist Brian Randolph Greene. In 2016, the festival was brought to Australia and it was a big hit among the locals, as well as among the international guests.

The event is graced every year by big names from the science and the entertainment industry who take to the stage to talk about the latest trends and discoveries in the scientific world.

For this year’s festival, WSF will tackle Human Regeneration, Bridging the Brain-Mind Gap, Neuroscience and the Spiritual Instinct, Mathematics and Secrets of Evolution. The festival has venues all over Queensland, although most of the events will take place in Brisbane.

Public Transport

People who live near the venue can walk to the festival, since it is only across the Brisbane CBD river at the South Bank and Cultural Precinct. People can also take the bus, train, ferry, or taxi to the festival.

Parking at the Event

There are five parking areas for the festival, namely the Riverside Carpark; Art Gallery/Museum Carpark; State Library of Queensland Carpark; Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre; and South Banks Parklands Carpark.

There are also other parking facilities across the city, but they won’t be as easy to get to from the event nor will it be easy to find a free parking space, with so many people needing one. Most of these parking areas are not for free with rates ranging from $1 to $4.40 per hour, depending on which parking zone you choose to park in.
