High school friends and lifelong Collingwood supporters Robert Crocitti and Michael Nuciforo had been circling the MCG in 2013 for more than 20 minutes, looking for a park.

With the MCG car park full, their only option – admittedly not a great one given they were already running late and the game versus Hawthorn was a blockbuster – was to return to the city and take the train out to the ground. “Michael pointed to an empty driveway just metres from the stadium,” remembers Crocitti. “He said, ‘Why don’t we park there?’ It was the best option at the time, but we didn’t know how to go about it. Should we knock on the door and offer them $5 or $10 to park for the duration of the game?”
